Your first workshop
Start small. A shelter, food supply and a dependable place to keep materials are enough to begin. The first factory grows from ordinary clay and andesite; it does not need a boss kill or a visit to another dimension.
1. Make your first alloy
Craft two Andesite and two Clay Balls into one Andesite Alloy. Use the alternating 2 × 2 pattern shown in JEI. Logs, planks and slabs retain their normal wood-specific crafting recipes.
Apply Andesite Alloy to a stripped log or stripped wood for an Andesite Casing, using Create's normal in-world application.
2. Bootstrap an Andesite Machine
The first Makeshift Mechanism costs four Andesite Alloy, four wooden slabs and one Iron Ingot. Arrange alloy in the corners, slabs on the edges and iron in the centre.
Surround one Andesite Casing with eight Makeshift Mechanisms to craft an Andesite Machine. Makeshift is the deliberately expensive manual route to this same machine body. There is no separate Kinetic Machine tier.
Makeshift Mechanisms must be made in your inventory grid or a crafting table. Their automated replacements arrive with the first Deployer.
3. Build the first Deployer
Craft the Gold Hand shown in JEI, then combine it with an Andesite Machine. Its registry name is still Brass Hand, even though this pack's bootstrap uses gold.
Power your workstation with Create's early rotational equipment. Use belts or a Depot to carry the workpiece under each Deployer. Check direction and speed before feeding a stack of ingredients.
4. Switch to Rotation Mechanisms
A wooden slab receives Andesite Alloy twice and then an Iron Hammer. The assembly takes one pass and yields one Rotation Mechanism; the hammer loses durability. Eight Rotation Mechanisms around a casing now produce the same Andesite Machine more efficiently.
Once a Mixer is available, one Andesite plus one Clay Ball makes one Alloy. Automating this ratio is a practical first saving.
What to do next
- Build a chute stone generator.
- Establish rubber and Copper production.
- Open Character and choose an origin.
- Hover supported items and hold W for Ponder lessons.
Use JEI for the exact installed recipe. The progression guide follows the current production scripts.
