1.20.1 "A New World" Update

The 1.20.1 "A New World" update marks a complete rework of the modpack, evolving from its previous 1.18.2 version to introduce a wealth of new content and improvements. This ambitious update has been over a year in the making, expanding the modpack from its original 7 chapters to 11 chapters of progression, offering players more depth, challenges, and rewards as they journey through the modded world.

Major Changes and Additions

  • 500 Recipe Changes: The update includes a comprehensive overhaul of the crafting system, with around 500 recipes being reworked to better integrate with the new and existing mods. This ensures a more cohesive and balanced gameplay experience that enhances the progression and crafting aspects of the modpack.

  • 1400 New Quests: To guide players through the expanded content, 1400 new quests have been added. These quests are designed to not only introduce the new features and mods but also provide a structured progression that keeps the gameplay engaging and rewarding from start to finish.

  • New Mods and Removals: As part of the rework, several mods have been removed to improve stability and performance, while many new mods have been added to bring fresh features and fun to the modpack. This careful curation of mods ensures that the pack is more streamlined and enjoyable than ever before.

Major Mod Changes

The 1.20.1 "A New World" update brings significant changes to the mod lineup, ensuring the pack remains streamlined, balanced, and fully compatible with the latest Minecraft version. Here are some of the key changes:

  • Removed Mods:

    • Industrial Foregoing: Removed as it didn't fit the theme of the pack and wasn't a good addition overall.
    • Immersive Engineering & Immersive Petroleum: These mods have been replaced by Create: The Factory Must Grow, which aligns better with the modpack's focus and provides a more cohesive experience.
    • Buzzier Bees, Autumnity, Atmospheric: These mods were removed due to their unavailability on 1.20.1.
    • Beyond Earth: Replaced with Ad Astra, offering a more refined space exploration experience.
    • Blood Magic: Removed as it no longer fits within the theme and balance of the modpack.
    • Hex Casting: Also removed due to thematic inconsistencies.
    • Blue Skies: Replaced with the Aether Mod, which better suits the overall feel of the pack.
    • Backpacked, Functional Storage, Iron Chests: These storage mods have been replaced by Sophisticated Backpacks & Storage, offering a more unified and feature-rich storage solution.
    • Tinkers' Construct: Unfortunately, due to a lack of updates for 1.20.1, Tinkers' Construct has been removed from the pack.
    • Psi: Removed for the same reason as Tinkers' Construct, due to it not being updated for 1.20.1.
    • Pam's HarvestCraft: Removed due to outdated textures and features that no longer align with the visual and functional standards of the modpack.
  • Added Mods:

    • Let's Do Mod Series: This series has been added to introduce new crops, blocks, and features like wine making, brewing beer, and much more, enriching the farming and crafting aspects of the modpack.
    • Apotheosis: Reintroduced with significant nerfs to ensure a balanced and enjoyable experience that fits within the modpack's progression.
    • Simply Swords: Hundreds of new weapons have been added, with Knaves' Needs providing compatibility for mods like Twilight Forest, BetterEnd, and Better Nether, expanding combat options.
    • Iron's Spells & Spellbooks: This new magic mod allows players to create spellbooks with unique spells for both utility and combat, offering a fresh magical experience.
    • Alex's Caves: Adds massive caves with unique biomes and mobs, enhancing the underground exploration aspect of the game.
    • Passive Skilltree: This mod introduces a skill tree system with over 300 different skill points, allowing players to build their own unique playstyle. Choose from Armorer skills for increased durability or Hunter skills for more damage, among many other options.
